The panel pipe is one of the oldest known argillite objects carved in the history of argillite. Here the octopus represents the underworld attempting to bring down Raven and man. The frog is the spirit helper passing it's supernatural powers to the man as he tries to free himself from the octopus. Killer whale supports the front of the canoe. In the Raven's head is the bowl of the pipe, and yes this is a functional pipe, highly recommended for prayer ceremonies.
