Design: Haida artist Vernon White belongs to the Tluu Xaada Naay Dance Group, which is led by his father, master Haida carver, Christian White. The dance group is working to bring back the songs and dances, which tell the story of the Haida songbird. In Haida culture the songbird dance is performed only by women. This mask was carved in 2018.

Vernon White is a Haida artist born in 1980. He apprenticed under his father, master Haida carver, Christian White.
Vernon has worked on various totem pole carving projects and a longhouse built by his father in Masset, Haida Gwaii.
