Argillite: A type of slate found on the Queen Charlotte Islands,argillite is preserved and protected for the cultural use of Haida carvers. Collected worldwide and with a history of 200 years of carving, the Haida have continued to offer a high standard of art form with this medium. Today we can enjoy a range of mastery and imagination as we witness three generations continue the legacy of argillite carving.

Of course all of our Argillite is Authentic and signed by the carver as it is our policy to promote and support these Haida artists of our time.

Appraisal forms and artists' biographies are included with the purchase of each carving for insurance purposes.
