This exceptional necklace by Ts’msyen artist Morgan Asoyuf brings together rare materials, skilled workmanship, and layered meaning. At the centre is an engraved hummingbird, often associated with femininity, springtime, and love, and adorned with a red garnet and blue topaz.
Framing the pendant are sterling silver salmon bone vertebrae and authentic Russian Blue trade beads from the 1800s.

About the artist: Morgan Asoyuf (née Green) was born in Prince Rupert, BC. She is Ts'msyen Eagle Clan from the Ksyeen River area, with lineages of Lax Giik and Githo'on. She was recently featured in the Curve! Women Carvers on the Northwest Coast, and is known for her high jewelry skills, creating unique, technical designs that truly make jewelry art.
