      This one-of-a-kind Haida art painting by award-winning artist Shoshannah Greene depicts the Haida story of Berry Picker and the Moon.

      Known for her ability to capture emotion in recent works such as Grief Storm and Nurse Log, and her inclinations to create softer scenes in painted mediums, such as the Lazy Son In Law and Dogfish Mother, this artist brings together this meaningful Haida story to reveal a scene full of wonder and magic. 

      Berry Picker and the Moon comes to life with a full moon in the background, and with a small vessel in hand for picking berries.

      Here, the artist uses a layering technique with matte acrylic paints to create dynamic tones, adding to the piece's luminescence and its ability to subtly transform in the presence of the varying shades and angles of a space's available light. Truly a dynamic and warming piece by this talented female artist!

      About the artist: Shoshannah Greene is a rising talent whose work is gaining attention across the Northwest Coast and beyond. Trained at Emily Carr, her paintings show remarkable precision and ability to bridge formline design to contemporary spaces. Her work can be seen on buildings in Vancouver. She was also recently announced as the winner of the 2025 Salt Spring National Art Prize. This is a timely opportunity to own an original by Haida artist Shoshannah Greene.
