
We’re excited to kick off 2026 by sharing what our talented artists are working on this year. From major exhibitions and community projects to new publications and awards, there’s a lot to celebrate.

Asoyuf's fine work in wood carving and inlay is travelling to Ottawa for Curve! Women Carvers on the Northwest Coast, a landmark exhibition organized by the Audain Art Museum. Originally presented in Whistler, Curve! will be held at the National Gallery of Canada from February 13th to July 26th, 2026. This major group exhibit highlights the contributions of female Northwest Coast carvers.

Haida artist Robert Davidson is featured in We Who Have Known Tides, the Vancouver Art Gallery's newest exhibition on Indigenous art. The show reflects on land, water, and cultural continuity through contemporary Indigenous perspectives. Among many incredible artists, this also marks an opportunity to see Robert Davidson's original painting, Diving Killer Whale (2016), in person.


Greene had her painting My Heart Is With You, Take Care –Grief Storm included in the Salt Spring National Art Prize competition, where she won the People’s Choice Award for 1st Prize. This original watercolour explores themes of loss, support, and community.


Russ is also featured in Curve! Women Carvers on the Northwest Coast, bringing her unique Haida argillite carvings to a national audience. In addition, her work and artist interview recently appeared in the October-November-December edition of Uppercase Magazine, a quarterly Canadian magazine on design, typography and illustration.

Savard's wood carvings will also travel to Ottawa to join the launch of Curve! in eastern Canada. This past July, she was featured in Gathered Light Magazine's ocean edition, a publication that highlights conservation, photography and artists.

Yovanovich is hard at work carving a new 40-foot monumental totem pole to be raised at Skidegate Days 2026 this summer. Keep an eye out for dates of the pole-raising.


Master Haida carver Christian White recently celebrated the book launch of Kihl ‘Yahda Christian White: Master Haida Artist, chronicling White’s legacy and many apprentices. The Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art published this richly illustrated publication in January 2026 to coincide with his first solo exhibition, which ends February 1st, 2026. Mark your calendar for the upcoming book launch on January 30th, 2026 held in Vancouver, Canada.
