Description

Add a unique touch to your style with a Haida argillite carving created by Haida jewelry artist and carver Sean Brennan. Working in the sector of land stewardship, this artist's work is rarely available.

A Thunderbird is a huge supernatural bird believed to create thunder and lightning.

The Thunderbird symbolizes upholding rules and order, as well as power, pride, and honour. The crest is used by chiefs and respected families. Known for being very clever, Thunderbirds are said to outsmart even the smartest people.

Sean has hand-carved this Haida jewelry Thunderbird pendant from argillite and abalone shell, continuing a Haida tradition dating back to the early 19th century. His artistry brings out a distinctive texture and tactile richness in every detail.

Material: Argillite, abalone shell

Dimensions: 2 1/4" wide x 1 3/8" tall (57 mm wide x 35 mm tall)

Chain option: 3 mm wide blackened sterling silver chain (chain shown in the photos)

Additional details: Each piece is a one-of-a-kind carving. Only one of each design was made.
