Butterfly Design: In northwest coast cultures, butterflies are messengers to the spirit world. They allow you to communicate with your ancestors & for your ancestors to communicate with you.
"These butterflies come from my imagination, some would say the spirit world & are inspired by real life activists. Our women & two-spirits are the most vulnerable & the most targeted. Visibility is everything. I wanted to create something to show that each butterfly is cared for, loved & honoured. Connection & community keep us safe."
This piece was exhibited at the 2020 Vancouver Pride Society Art Walk.
